I'm finally on the hunt for my first personal DSLR camera! It's a very exciting time (for me at least!).
I'm trying to prepare myself for an internship this summer. The current internship I'm looking at is pretty awesome, and I really hope I get accepted into their program. To prepare myself for whatever internship I do get into this summer, I need my own camera for photography and video work.
The two brands I have used to most are Nikon and Canon. They each are good in their own respect, but Canon DSLRs have always worked better for me. The current camera I am looking into is the Canon Rebel T3i. With the T3i, I can not only shoot great photos, but the video quality is HD. Along with the HD quality, there is an audio port so I can use a mic for interview. Double win. When I take assignments for the school newspaper, I'll be able to produce content for all three mediums; triple win!
No matter what camera I get, I'll be one step closer to being an independent journalist. I should have added this to my list of goals: save up money for personal DSLR camera to make me an even more awesome journalist (I wish!).
