I know what kind of book I want to write.

September 19, 2016

After a life-altering, full circle experience, (see previous post) I'm eager and looking forward to more. I've more recently than ever - in the past year or so - have come to appreciate the entertainment industry as a healthy, needed distraction in one's life as a way to handle the stresses, disappointments and struggles in life in a positive manner. On the flip-side, the industry is used to express happiness in situations, too!

Thanks to Vertical Horizon, I had this epiphany of what it means to have this full circle accomplishment. As consumers of music, movies, television shows, books, and art, we have indirect, intimate connections with the musicians, actors, actresses, and artists who put so much passion and effort into the finished projects. There are rare situations where we can, in person, give our thanks and appreciation for how their work improved our lives. Once we get to meet and share each other's stories in person, we have reached the full circle of the entertainment world's purpose.

Well, that's how I see it, anyway. It works for me, so I'll take what I can get.

Shonda Rhimes taught me it's okay to be me and to say Yes and No.

  Dear Shonda,

GREAT book. love.love.love. Year of Yes made me realize things about myself that made me proud of who I am, which I didn't expect. Everyone needs a year of yes! I've already have been working on the Yes, and your book is giving me the positive push to continue through it, no matter how difficult. I appreciate your honesty and openness throughout the book, too.

A real vacation this time, plus business.

We didn't win, but this
is more than enough!
Seattle!! I went to Seattle last weekend for the CBI convention/conference since I was a part of a crew that produced a finalist broadcast from last school year. The Bomb Threat special was really emotional for me, so I'm ecstatic that the work I put into it paid off. I directed, produced, wrote, made graphics, got some video footage... yeah. I did stuff for it, haha. We were up against some really large stations, and I'm happy that we were just a finalist among the 800 plus entries. I mean, some of these stations had twice or three times the staff than we did.

Voice actor fascination!

January 11, 2014
Like I said before, I'm trying to keep my Illustrator skills sharp, so I recreated four of Rob Paulsen's characters. He is one my favorite voice over actors because he is such a down to earth, normal famous actor. I'm not saying others aren't, but Rob just seems like someone who definitely didn't let show business get to him.
Created by myself using Adobe Illustrator. Just my interp.!

Just a little design fun.

Donatello graphic by me. My interpretation of the awesome turtle!
I want to keep my Illustrator skills sharp, so I'm in the process of making a Rob Paulsen banner. Why? Because, I love his characters, and I enjoy recreating cartoon-like graphics. I hope he likes the first character of the few I'm doing. I love the look of the newest Ninja Turtle TV series. Rob used to be Rafael, but he's now voicing Donatello, and I adore Donatello! So, here's to Donatello!
