Book Challenges for 2016

January 4, 2016

Since I am highly disappointed about the fact I only read 15 books last year, I am going to double that number. Thanks to Goodreads, I set a goal of 30 books to read this year. There are a lot of new things I want to try in 2016, so I feel 30 is manageable number.

To help me on the quest for reaching 30 books by December 2016, I saw this graphic about a "2016 Reading Challenge" on Facebook. This list came from Modern Mrs. Darcy. As I read this list, I had book titles and cover filling my mind. here's the list:

[ ] a book published this year
[ ] a book you can finish in a day
[ ] a book you've been meaning to read
[ ] a book recommended by your local librarian or bookseller
[ ] a book chosen for you by your spouse, partner, sibling, child or best friend
[ ] a book published before you were born
[ ] a book that was banned at some point
[ ] a book you previously abandoned
[ ] a book you own but have never read
[ ] a book that intimidates you
[ ] a book you've already read at least once

Orange is the New Black fulfills a book you previously abandoned, Sushi for Beginners fulfills a book you own but have never read and It's Always Something fulfills a book you're already read at least once.

If anyone else is taking on this challenge as well, let me know what books you're reading to complete it. I'll be at Starbucks once a week to force me to read. Happy reading!
