'Yes Please' by Amy Poehler.

December 20, 2015

Wow. What a great read. I finished Yes Please in three days. I wish it didn't end. Amy is a very good writer, very good. Reading autobiographies "celebrities" write are usually eye opening, but Amy's was really opening. She shared her life enough to make her relateable without telling all.
My interest for Amy started with Parks and Rec, which is a fantastic, funny and awesome show. Leslie Knope is my hero. I want to be her when I grow up. That's not a joke. Leslie is caring, positive and smart: the whole package and then some. It also helps she has a very handsome man by her side. More about the show in another post...

Amy is so much like Leslie. She is real. That's the best way to explain it, I guess. I rented the eBook, but I should invest in a physical copy. She gives some great career and life advice.
"The only way we will survive of by being kind. The only way we can get by in this world is through the help we receive from others. No one can do it alone, no matter how great the machines are."
I read the book too quick. I'm going to read it again, of course. Even though I now consider myself an Amy Poehler fan, she is talented and gifted within her craft. I hope I can have the same amount of passion within my career that she has for hers.
